Some announcements overnight regarding award winners:
The NZ Post Children’s Book Awards winners were announced last night – full list here. Have to admit to being slightly surprised The Wonky Donkey missed out on the judged awards – but no surprise it took out the Children’s Choice!
And the Lost Man Booker for 1970 goes to Troubles by J.G. Farrell – anyone read it?

That ‘Lost Man Booker’ was one of the silliest awards evah- never used to be Man Booker for a kick off, and awarding it to a long-dead author?
Methinks the “Booker” publicity people have finally realised the brand is just about dead, and are desperately trying to revivfy – something-
I hate “Man” Booker! I am a bit of an unabashed Booker fangirl – but it’s the Booker. No man needed. Ah-ha.
Shows how much attention I paid to the initial announcement – only yesterday I realised it was actually voted for by the public. Yeah – nah.
